Target group & persona

Group: Dutch family’s with children in the age group from 5 – 15 + tourists

The age group for this game is hard to decide. But especially for families with children it’s really fun to play. The important thing is understanding and being able to work with an iPad. Kids younger than 5 years old are not able to understand the iPad well enough to play an actual game on it. The group a little older will learn what to do according to videos and text which parents are able to help out with.

For parents it has to be interesting and fun to do as well. There’s information and a fun trip, which will be enjoyed for the entire day. The target group of family’s will be the one who’s the most appealing. They’ll take days of like this and will do one of the tours.

We chose the age group from 5-15 because kids in that age will be able to know how an iPad works. A kid of 5 years old will know how to press the buttons and with a little help of their parents they’ll get to know what exactly is going on. The kids who are a little older are able to read the information themselves and still be interested in the videos and the games around it. They’re able to help out brothers or sisters who are maybe a bit younger and get to enjoy everything together with the family.
Even people older then 15 would be able to enjoy the tour, but we’ll get into the group of 5-15 the most, especially in the Dutch population.

Next to families there are tourists. Who are interested in culture and visiting different kind of cities to see the country. They’ll look around and a location based game will makes this even more fun. It’ll make it easier to show different and historic parts of the video. Plus it’ll make it even more fun for the children who’ll definitely enjoy the videos and games

The age group will be different for tourist. You visit a country or city because you’re interested in everything, which is around. People from different age groups would be interested in the historic monuments and stories behind it. The group would spread to people older and maybe even group of friends would enjoy the tour.

Persona

Family Jackson
Jack, 7 years old
Marie and Martin, 40 and 44 years old.

This family of four lives happily together in Machester, UK. Both have a good job in the hospital and are in need of a vacation. They decide to get a short vacation of a week to the Netherlands. Camping, go to the beach and maybe even visit some cities near. Which also has to be fun for the kids. One of Marie’s friend, Eve, moved to the Netherlands and told her about ‘Lost in Time’ a fun way to explore different kind of cities.  Eve tried the game with her 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter. She told Marie to try it once she came to the Netherlands. As her kids and they really enjoyed it.
They decided to make a planning for the entire week they’ll be in the Netherlands. Reserving one day for the Lost in Time game. They’re already using an iPad at home and planned to bring it on vacation. This will come in very handy if they’re going to play the game. The kids are very enthusiastic as well.

Jan-Pierre, 9 years old

This French family lives north of Paris, in a lovely family house. They travel a lot and try to see as much of the world as they can. Mary works as a receptionist and Jaque works at a luxury man-clothing store. They try to travel at least twice a year. This summer they decided to visit the Netherlands, it’s close and they actually haven’t been there before. They’re planning to see as much cities of the country as possible. The kids are old enough to get by and really like the sightseeing.
Through one of the tourist guide books they found out about ‘Lost in Time’. A new experience to see some of the Dutch city’s. The kids love history legends and with the additional videos and games Jaque and Mary are sure they’ll enjoy Lost in Time.

Iris van de Valk -10 years old
Iris is 10 years old, she lives with her parents and little sister, Mike and Lianne and the 7 year old Eva. They live in the centre of Lisse near the Castle of Lisse. Iris loves to sport and practices gymnastics twice a week. She in ‘group 7’ of primary school, where she has a lot of friends. In two weeks Iris will became 11 years old. Her parents and she herself wanted to do something different, new and original. After doing a little research and looking around in the neighbourhood. They found a new concept called ‘Lost in Time’, they never really heard of it but the information centre said it would be good fun. Especially for young children to spend a nice sunny day outside.
Iris really liked the idea so made an appointment and invited her friends. After some lunch they’ll go into Lisse and play Lost in Time.
